Glen Oaks hires Devin Wilburn as Athletic Director
Experienced coach and sports administrator brings energy and vision to lead Viking athletics
Glen Oaks Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Devin Wilburn as the new director of athletics. Wilburn, who brings a strong background in both high school and collegiate coaching, joined the college on Monday, August 27.
Wilburn's experience includes coaching roles at Taylor University and Ball State University, where he developed programs and mentored student-athletes across various sports. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in sports administration from Ball State University.
"Devin's positive energy, leadership experience, and passion for athletics will be great assets to our players and our athletic program," said Tonya Howden, Vice President of Student Services. "We're excited to welcome him to the Viking family and look forward to the impact he will have in elevating student-athlete success and team development."
Wilburn will be relocating from Muncie, Indiana, along with his family, which includes his wife, Maddie, and daughters, Tatum and Sienna. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of the college's athletic programs, including recruitment, coaching support, athletic compliance, and student-athlete development.
"I'm honored to be joining Glen Oaks at such an exciting time," said Wilburn. "This college has a strong tradition of student success, and I look forward to working with the coaches, staff, and student-athletes to build on that foundation and continue growing Viking athletics."
Glen Oaks Community College currently offers athletic programs in men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, golf, and volleyball. It competes in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
