Glen Oaks falls to Dyersburg State in Game 2 Saturday
Eagles hold on after six runs in the third.
Glen Oaks baseball dropped the second game 8-2 in Saturday's doubleheader in Tennessee at Dyersburg State Community College. The Eagles scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning, which allowed them to take a commanding lead in the seven inning affair.
The Vikings had tied it up 1-1 in the top of the third with an RBI single from Steven Drewyor that brought in Jackson Stewart. The fourth inning had the other GOCC run as McCullan Greene advanced home on a wild pitch. Glen Oaks had three hits in the game with one apiece by Drewyor, Brayden Clark, and Peyton Simmons.
Jackson Stewart started on the mound for the Vikings and surrendered eight hits, seven runs, six earned runs, and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings. Erick Martin gave up one hit and an unearned run in an inning of relief. Jacob Sitton was the winning pitcher for Dyersburg State with three hits, two runs, one earned run, four walks, and five strikeouts in six innings. Jake Santos had three of the nine Eagle hits in the game.
The series continues with another doubleheader between Glen Oaks and Dyersburg State on Sunday afternoon.
