Lansing Community College claimed a 16-2 victory at Glen Oaks Thursday. The Vikings were outhit 17-5 over the contest's five innings on a cold and windy day in Centreville. The Stars roared ahead with six runs in the first inning and another six in the second..
Glen Oaks' runs were solo spots in the second and third innings. Erick Marin had two hits and a walk drawn. Andrew Thorpe had a hit and RBI, while Steven Drewyor had the other Viking RBI. The runs were scored by Jayden Hamilton and Brody Wardenburg. Hamilton and Brayden Clark both had singles.
The Vikings are now 1-1 in MCCAA Western Conference play and 4-17 overall. Weather pending, Glen Oaks is slated to host Kellogg Saturday at 1 p.m. in a nine inning single game.
