Geigley officially takes over as GOCC men's golf coach
CENTREVILLE, Mich. — Glen Oaks Community College has officially named Carter Geigley as the head coach of its men's golf program, removing the interim designation he held during the spring season.
A former Vikings golfer and local golf professional, Geigley returns to lead the program where he once competed.
"We are excited to officially name Carter Geigley as the head coach for golf here at Glen Oaks," Athletic Director Devin Wilburn said. "Carter's passion for Glen Oaks and providing a high-level experience for his athletes make him a great fit for our department and college as a whole. Carter served in an interim basis this spring, and we are excited for him to officially take the reins of the program and push Glen Oaks golf forward."
A 2020 graduate of Centreville High School, Geigley began his collegiate golf career at Bethel University before transferring to Glen Oaks. During his time as a student-athlete, he developed a strong connection to the college and the golf program that helped shape his future coaching aspirations.
Following his playing career, Geigley spent four years as assistant golf professional at Island Hills Golf Club while also serving as head varsity golf coach for the Centreville Bulldogs. Those experiences allowed him to develop a passion for mentoring young golfers and helping student-athletes grow both on and off the course.
Geigley currently serves as head golf professional at Coldwater Golf Course, where he oversees daily operations, instruction, tournaments and player development. His experience in both coaching and golf operations has prepared him to guide the Vikings program into its next chapter.
"I am honored to return to Glen Oaks in this role," Geigley said. "As a former student-athlete, this college holds a special place in my heart. I look forward to building a program that emphasizes hard work, accountability and a positive team culture while helping our student-athletes reach their full potential."
Geigley and his wife, Madi, have been married for three years and share their home with their two dogs, Lola and Daisy.
The Vikings will continue preparations for the upcoming season under Geigley's leadership as the program looks to build upon its tradition of success on the course and in the classroom.
