Vikings earn home win
A balanced scoring effort helped the Glen Oaks women's basketball team to a 68-53 victory Thursday night at home against Bethel University's JV squad.
After the first quarter with things tied at 11-11, the Vikings opened things up with a 19-9 advantage in the second quarter.
The Vikings had a 31-9 advantage in points off turnovers and a 26-6 edge in the paint. Eliana Wilson was 5-for-7 shooting for a team-high 15 points. Kamryn Washington reached double figures with 13.
On the glass, Kylie Quist led GOCC with seven rebounds to go with her three points, Amanda Barber added three steals on top of three points, and Wilson and Abby Youmans (four points) both had a block.
Sarah DeKoning finished with seven points, Ajacia Griffith had six and Morgan Kurdziel ended the game with five.
