Wrapping up a two-game road trip over the weekend, the Glen Oaks women's basketball team topped North Central Michigan 61-41 Saturday in Petoskey.
With an 18-6 run in the first quarter, the Vikings remained in control the rest of the way. Morgan Kurdziel paced GOCC with 10 points in 24 minutes of play, and Kamryn Washington and Amanda Barber each posted eight points.
Lilyana Coleman, Abby Youmans and Sarah DeKoning all finished with six points. Along with five points, Eliana Wilson grabbed a team-best eight rebounds, and Kurdziel, Coleman and Kaytlin Smith pulled down four boards apiece. Smith also produced four points, Kylie Quist added five points and Chelsi Zyla had three points.
The team shot 34.7 percent from the field and finished with six 3-point buckets. Barber recorded a team-high four assists, and Kurdziel led the Vikings with six steals.
Glen Oaks is now 6-1 overall and matches up against Mid-Michigan College on Monday, Dec. 4 at home.
