Trio of Lady Vikings earn MCCAA basketball awards
Partee, Denton and Scott honored.
The Michigan Community College Athletic Association released its list of women's basketball award winners Wednesday and a trio of Glen Oaks Community College players were honored by the conference.
Sophomore forward Jordyn Partee made the All-MCCAA Western Conference Third Team for the Vikings. The Kalamazoo Loy Norrix High School product started all 27 games and averaged 8.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. She finished her career at Glen Oaks with 427 points, 296 boards, 79 assists and 130 steals.
Freshman guard Tayler Denton out of Indianapolis made the All-MCCAA Western Conference Honorable Mention Team after starting 21 games and scoring 7.8 points per contest. She averaged three rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.1 assists per game for the Vikings.
Freshman guard Zy'Asija Scott from Lima, OH, was also an Honorable Mention selection for GOCC. Scott started 15 of 22 games in which she appeared, averaging 7.5 points, a 36.1-percent shooting rate, 2.4 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.9 assists per game.
