Volleyball Player of the Week: Keegan Russell
Freshman setter shines for GOCC over the weekend.
Freshman setter Keegan Russell, a South Bend Clay High School product, made her college volleyball debut Saturday and Sunday at the Opening Weekend Tournament in Rockford, Ill., and provided a spark for Glen Oaks.
Russell's leadership on the court was on full display, where she led the team in aces (10), assists (37) and digs (44). She also finished with three blocks and four kills. That's why she was named by the GOCC coaching staff as the team's Sturgis Bank Player of the Week.
"Keegan showed up on the first day of practice with a great attitude, high energy and a focus to get better everyday," Vikings head coach Tracy Sterling said. "We have moved her around to a few different positions this year already and she has accepted the challenge each time."
