Vikings sweep Andrews
Glen Oaks claims road volleyball win in straight sets
The Glen Oaks Community College volleyball team traveled to Andrews University Tuesday evening and picked up its first victory of the season after a 25-21, 25-19, 27-25 sweep.
The Vikings piled up 11 aces in the match while serving around 79 percent. Karsyn Stebbins led the way with five aces and Isabella Coy finished with four. Defensively, Tamerah Clay led the way with 11 digs and Kulayjah Weller added eight digs.
Weller dished out 28 assists with Stebbins capitalizing for a team-high 13 kills. Kaytlin Smith registered nine kills and Alicyn Arevalo was next in line with six. Both Keegan Russell and Arevalo notched a block for the Vikings.
Gina Smith, Coy and Stebbins also recorded three digs apiece.
The Vikings (1-7) make their home debut Saturday at the Glen Oaks Quad, taking on Jackson at 9 a.m. and Edison at 3 p.m.
