Volleyball Player of the Week: Isabella Coy
Freshman libero recognized by coaching staff.
Freshman libero/defensive specialist Isabella Coy was chosen as the Sturgis Bank Volleyball Player of the Week by the Glen Oaks coaching staff after producing 65 digs, five assists and four aces in six matches.
"She covers so much of the court when she is playing," GOCC head coach Tracy Sterling said. "She has the ability to align herself to dig hard-hit balls and anticipate tips or blocked balls in front of the ten-foot line and pop them up."
Coy, who hails from St. Lake City, Utah, has seen about 30 percent of opposing teams' serves come her way and has done a fantastic job getting the Vikings into their offense. She has a total of 425 serve receptions with only 48 errors. Coy also has 200 digs through 20 matches.
"Her energy and positivity are contagious when she is playing," Sterling added.
The Vikings are back at home Tuesday against Andrews University and Thursday versus Lake Michigan.
