Glen Oaks came out strong on the road Thursday with a 25-11, 25-16, 22-25, 25-17 volleyball victory over Marian University's Ancilla College.
The Vikings earned the Michigan Community College Athletic Association victory after Amya Shuppert and Kaytlin Smith produced 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Adding to the 31-kill night were Nicole Smothermon (six), Eliana Wilson (six) and Alayna Wimberly (six).
Smothermon led the way with 28 assists, while Wimberly added six. Alea Fisher paced GOCC with 27 digs, Wimberly recorded 15 and Riana Wilson registered 10.
The Vikings improved to 1-2 in conference play and look to get to .500 with another road contest Tuesday against Lansing Community College.
