Glen Oaks volleyball earned a 3-1 home victory Tuesday against Kalamazoo Valley, giving the Vikings back-to-back home victories. GOCC took the match 25-19, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21.
Both Amya Shuppert and Eliana Wilscon tallied 16 kills to pace the Vikings, which have now won two straight league contests. Kaytlin Smith posted 11 kills, Shuppert led the way with three service aces and Alea Fisher had a team-high 25 digs. Nicole Smothermon added 15 digs, while Riana Wilson and Alayna Wimberly both finished with eight.
The victory puts Glen Oaks at 3-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference, tied for fourth with Southwestern Michigan. The Vikings are 5-10 overall. Kalamazoo Valley falls to 1-5 in conference play and 5-15 overall. Glen Oaks hits the road next with a Thursday match at Southwestern Michigan at 6:30 p.m. Their earlier matchup on September 12 hosting the Roadrunners was an intense 3-2 defeat.
