Fired up on Sophomore Night Thursday at home, the Glen Oaks volleyball team came out hot in the first set and nearly pulled off an early win. But the MCCAA Western Conference-leading Lansing Stars fended off the feisty Vikings for a 3-0 victory.
In the first set, Lansing Community College rallied for a 25-23 win. Glen Oaks, despite falling behind 7-0 in the second set, fought back to make things interesting. However, the Stars finished off the set strong for a 25-19 victory. Lansing ended the night with a 25-14 win in the third to improve to 9-1 in the conference.
